IECD

Jeune homme fait de la souderie

For over 30 years, the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) has been implementing integrated education, training, and professional integration projects tailored to the needs of young people and local communities. Recognized as a public-interest organization, IECD is an international solidarity body founded in 1988, operating in 18 countries (Sub-Saharan Africa, the Maghreb, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and France).

Its mission is to create environments that enable everyone to develop their talents, build a better future, and become a responsible actor in their country.

The Foundation supports the Young Farmers Training Program (FoJeMA) implemented in Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon, which aims to provide every young person aged 13 to 25 with comprehensive vocational training in agriculture, combining technical and human development. This training equips them with technical and interpersonal skills to prepare for working life (primarily self-employment) and improve their living conditions.

The program includes 5 centers in Côte d’Ivoire and 9 in Cameroon, spread across the territories. Together, these centers train nearly 800 young people per year through two-year programs (Professional Qualification Certificate) and three-year programs (Technician’s Diploma).pervisors in work-study-based learning.
