The aim of the charity Lit uP is to use civic engagement as an educational driver to reduce social inequalities and enable young people to find their own way and become instruments of change. Its actions are based on two pillars:

  • Getting the most disadvantaged young people back on track through engagement and supporting them so that this experience can be a springboard towards long-term employment.
  • Helping youth organisations use civic engagement as a way of giving young people a say in their own lives.

The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports two complementary courses rolled out in the Var, Île-de-France and nationally with partners focused on young people and society (Missions locales, Emmaüs, E2C, etc.):

  • The Boost uP programme, designed to help young unemployed people get back into the job market through civic engagement in a group setting. In 2022, five modules were taught to 85 young people from Mission Locale and E2C. Fifteen modules are planned for 2023.
  • The Light uP programme, designed to turn engagement into a real springboard for their professional future. This programme utilises coaches and experts to help participants develop key skills collectively, and volunteers and tutors to help them take action. The programme is personalised and lasts three to 10 months.
