Futur au présent

To fight against extreme poverty and inequalities, FAP, a Franco-Senegalese association, is implementing several social programs in Senegal and in France:

- Maison de l'Éducation: educational monitoring of girls in a child labour situation (Senegal)
- Socio-economic integration of incarcerated people (Senegal)
- Passer’Aile, social support for unaccompanied minors (France)
- Employability and training of young people in Casamance

Societe Generale’s The Future Is You Foundation supports the Maison de l'Éducation (MDE). The MDE is a programme for psycho-social counselling, educational assistance and support for the empowerment and personal development of girls ages 6 to 14. This programme was created in 2014 as a supplement to the public schools in the Kandé district of Ziguinchor to keep young girls away from child labour and from dropping out of school. Every day outside of school hours, they benefit from activities to improve their basic skills (reading, writing and arithmetic), as well as a range of socio-cultural and sporting activities. The project also includes a health component, support for the most at-risk families (creation of income-generating activities, etc.), support for parenthood and efforts to raise awareness of children's rights. Since 2020, the MDE team has been involved in the "Ejo" programme run and coordinated by the NGO PLAY. Alongside the MDE, the aim of this new phase of the project is to develop the Hors-les-Murs programme in different neighbourhoods, with young students selected and trained to provide tutoring and extra-curricular activities.
