Rebonds!
Founded in 2004, the association Rebonds! aims to promote inclusion and empowerment of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through sports, particularly rugby. By using sport as an educational and integration tool, Rebonds! works to combat social and gender inequalities while strengthening social cohesion and access to rights.
Its actions are structured around several key areas:
- Education and prevention
- Gender equality and anti-discrimination
- Health and well-being
- Social connection and access to rights
- Social and professional integration
Together, these actions create seamless pathways for beneficiaries, offering comprehensive support to address educational, social, and professional challenges.
The Foundation supports the “Rugby Integration” project, which is built around two main components:
- Education: Delivery of educational rugby programs by socio-sports educators in co-construction with educational coordinators. These sessions take place during school hours (elementary schools, middle schools, high schools), as well as during peri- and extracurricular times and in specialized institutions (IME, ITEP, etc.). This component helps identify target audiences for the integration axis.
- Integration: Implementation of the “Rebonds! Follow-up,” which provides individualized support (schooling, social and professional integration, access to rights, budget management, and parenting) for young people interested in playing rugby. They are registered with one of the 56 partner rugby clubs, promoting their social and professional integration. Through a transversal approach and a relationship of trust, the association personalizes each support plan, guides young people toward appropriate programs, and facilitates access to rights without replacing competent partners.
In addition to the Rugby Integration project, Rebonds! is piloting a multisport initiative in Occitanie to reach younger audiences (ages 3–6 in Toulouse, and preschoolers in Gers, Comminges, and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The goal is to integrate these children into the Rebonds! follow-up from an early age (to better address challenges), implement preventive pathways as early as possible, and promote physical activity to improve motor skills and health.
