Lumières sur l'info
Lumières sur l'Info was born "on the ground” in the aftermath of the 2015 attacks, when a duo of journalists decided to work with a group of young people from the Paris suburbs who were convinced that the attacks never happened. By tracing the source of the information with them, they were able to deconstruct the channels through which it is produced, circulated and manipulated. To continue this work with more young people, the charity is developing:
- Free content for teenagers via social networks, but above all educational resources for teachers listed on their dedicated platforms;
- Participatory media education workshops for two one-hour sessions in secondary schools, led by professional journalists since 2017.
The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports the #TropMytho project and the development of an 'augmented' version of the workshops: Seven two-hour modules supervised by a journalist to help young people become active players in the fight against misinformation and conspiracy theories. The project involves 20 secondary school classes throughout the Île-de-France region, primarily in inner-city areas. At the end of the course, the goal is for each class to produce two short videos deconstructing fake news or conspiracy theories, chosen by young people on their social networks. The seven workshops are as follows: presentation of the programme and choice of a subject by the young participants, investigation, writing, filming, editing, feedback and discussion with the families, and a visit to a newsroom.
