"Classes Cultures": 385 middle and high school students discover the Musée d'Orsay.
Nearly 385 middle and high school students from the Besançon Academy are taking part this school year in the ‘Culture Classes’ program, an initiative created by the Musée d’Orsay and strongly supported by the Foundation since its launch in 2024.
This program runs throughout the school year: in the classroom, students explore the theme of landscape using educational resources designed by the museum, guided by their teachers. They develop their thinking, create, and share ideas before and after their visit to Paris.
The three-day stay at the Musée d’Orsay in January is one of the highlights of the project: immersion in the collections, artistic workshops, and exceptional access to the restoration site of A Burial at Ornans by Gustave Courbet—an iconic work and a strong link to their region.
Beforehand, they walked the Courbet trails in Ornans and discovered his landscapes and inspirations. Later, they will share their discoveries by creating podcasts for other young people, bringing art beyond the museum walls.
By supporting this program for three years, we reaffirm our commitment: making culture accessible to all and opening new horizons for younger generations.
