Musée d’Orsay : Classes Culture
Alongside its support for exhibitions, the Foundation is also backing the Musée d’Orsay’s new educational program, Destination Musée d’Orsay – Culture Classes.
The Culture Classes offered by the museum are designed for students from primary school through high school. They provide a rich and diverse educational pathway aimed at bringing young audiences closer to the collections and the major artistic movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Through iconic works by Monet, Degas, and Van Gogh, students discover key movements such as Impressionism, Symbolism, and Art Nouveau in an immersive and interactive approach.
Each Culture Class is structured around a guiding theme that combines guided tours, mediation, and hands-on workshops. These workshops encourage experimentation, creativity, and personal expression—through drawing, visual creation, or writing—closely linked to the themes explored during the visits.
Activities are led by specialized mediators who adapt their approach and methods to the pedagogical needs and level of each group.
This initiative is part of a broader mission to transmit artistic and cultural heritage, aiming to shape informed citizens who appreciate the diversity and richness of artistic forms.
Culture Classes play a vital role as a bridge between school and museum, reinforcing the Musée d’Orsay’s vocation as a living, stimulating, and inclusive learning space.
Through this educational program, the museum helps spark curiosity, develop artistic sensitivity, and foster critical thinking among younger generations, while highlighting the cultural and historical wealth of its collections.
