Le Sens de l'École
Le Sens de l’École helps the most vulnerable children reshape certain misconceptions they hold about school and learning — misconceptions identified by research as root causes of disengagement and educational inequality. By positively influencing these beliefs, the organization removes barriers to learning and transforms them into drivers of school engagement:
- Sense of belonging: Le Sens de l’École fosters a positive vision of school and a respectful, calming school climate.
- A dynamic view of intelligence (“growth mindset”): The organization helps develop perseverance and a constructive relationship with mistakes.
- Perception of the purpose of school: It nurtures students’ motivation to do their best in school so they can positively contribute to society.
The association works on these representations at two levels, aiming for systemic impact through:
- Targeted action with students, via in‑class workshops for CM1, CM2, and 6th‑grade pupils in priority education areas, co‑facilitated with teachers during school hours.
- A whole‑school approach through training for teachers and educators, enabling them to positively influence students’ academic beliefs on a daily basis.
The Société Générale Corporate Foundation supports Le Sens de l’École in order to scale its various programs into regions neighboring Île‑de‑France, and later into the Hauts‑de‑France region.
