Les Siècles Orchestra

The Siècles is an orchestra ensemble bringing together musicians of a new generation, performing each repertoire on the appropriate historical instruments. The Siècles provide a perspective across several centuries of musical creation.
The first encounter between the Société Générale Musical Patronage Association and The Siècles took place in 2007. At that time, the orchestra was featured in the short program broadcast on France 2, "Presto," which presents classical music in an entertaining way and with which the association was a partner. The support from the Société Générale Musical Patronage Association (which became the Société Générale Corporate Foundation in 2021) intensified in 2010.
The Siècles regularly perform on stages in London (BBC Proms, Barbican Centre, Southbank Centre), Berlin (Philharmonie, Konzerthaus), Lucerne, Salzburg, Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw), Cologne, Bad Kissingen, Bremen, Brussels, Bucharest (Enescu Festival), Aldeburgh, Wiesbaden, Luxembourg, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Rome, Venice, Essen…
Committed to sharing their passion for classical music with as many people as possible, the musicians of the ensemble very regularly offer educational activities in schools, hospitals, and prisons. The orchestra is a partner of the Jeune Symphonie de l’Aisne, the Jeune Orchestre Européen Hector Berlioz, and DEMOS (Musical and Orchestral Education Program with a Social Purpose) in Hauts-de-France and Île-de-France. The Siècles are also the originators of the "Music at the Hospital" project offered in the pediatric hemato-oncology department at Trousseau Hospital in Paris and at Beauvais Hospital, as well as an educational residency at La Petite Bibliothèque Ronde in Clamart.
The Corporate Foundation supports the orchestra for its artistic development and dissemination in France and internationally.
