Le Concert de la Loge
Violinist Julien Chauvin has been working to revive Le Concert de la Loge Olympique, a musical association created in 1783, since January 2015. Today, Le Concert de la Loge explores new forms of concerts, reviving the spontaneity and customs of the late 18th century, which mixed different genres and artists in the same evening.
The ensemble has toured many opera houses with forgotten operas such as Sacchini's “Le Cid”. In recital, it joins forces with renowned soloists such as mezzo-soprano Karina Gauvin, soprano Sandrine Piau, countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and harpsichordist Justin Taylor.
On record, Le Concert de la Loge has recorded Haydn's complete “Paris” symphonies, which were hailed by the critics (Choc Classica, Le Monde, Télérama, etc.). “Si j'ai aimé”, an album of French melodies recorded with Sandrine Piau, received a Gramophone Award in 2020, while the same year saw the release of a recording of Vivaldi's Violin Concerto “Il Teatro” and a DVD of Shakespeare's “Twelfth Night”.
As an ensemble strongly involved in society, Le Concert de la Loge actively participates in the “Hip Baroque Choc” educational project launched in 2016. It also launched the “Osez Haydn!” festival, which ran in 2018 and 2019.
We have been partners of Le Concert de la Loge since January 2021.
