La maison de la conversation
The Maison de la Conversation (‘house of conversation’) is a third place for innovation and social experimentation – a space for creation, building and exchange with people you wouldn't meet otherwise. Located in the middle of an inner-city neighbourhood in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, the centre is based on the values of equality, inclusion, usefulness, serendipity and social interaction – the hallmarks of conversation. It offers:
- A place where people feel good, with meeting places open to all;
- Programming available that's fun, fulfilling and inclusive;
- A community committed to making this place a refuge for transition.
The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports the JO'OSE programme, which offers training in journalism and related professions in partnership with the Ecole des Métiers de l'Information (EMI, the IT career school), media outlets such as Radio Nova and professionals in the sector. Aimed at young people from the Porte de Montmartre inner-city area, these courses are available in two versions, enabling young people who have dropped out of school to learn about and acquire technical skills in journalism:
- A short training programme: Four “Les 48 heures des médias” sessions (sports journalism, women in sport, parasport);
- A longer training programme: RNCP (Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles) no. 36466, “Multimedia journalist” - Level 6.
