IM'PACTES
IM'PACTES works with children in the care of the Children's Social Welfare Agency (Aide Sociale à l’Enfance – ASE) to improve their health and schooling. The schooling programme is for children in foster care or subject to a court-ordered educational assistance measure through three projects:
- the DECOUVERTE project, which helps children ages 5-12 acquire basic skills through volunteer-based tutoring (homework help, cultural outings, etc.);
- the AMBITION project, which helps teens ages 13-18 discover the working world and receive guidance through mentoring;
- the AVENIR project, which helps young adults ages 18-25 become self-sufficient in order to maximise their social and professional integration.
The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports the AMBITION project, which provides educational support for teens ages 13 to 18 in the care of the ASE. Each young person should be able to benefit from long-term mentoring (for at least one school year) to discover the working world and help them gain self-confidence. Mentors are recruited and trained by the charity. Partnerships with major companies also enable them to find an internship at 14-15 years of age, visit companies and discover careers. At the same time, the young people receive tutoring and attend artistic workshops in small groups in their own homes (children's homes) with the charity's partners.
