Chemins d'avenirs
Chemins d'Avenirs (‘pathways to the future’) is the first charity 100% dedicated to young people who live far from major cities, regardless of their academic results. It aims to support 25,000 secondary school students by 2025. Chemins d'Avenir's strategy and initiatives focus on two complementary pillars:
- Action on the ground to help secondary school students in sparsely populated areas build civic, academic and professional pathways.
- Advocacy to put the spotlight on these young people and influence public and corporate policies to promote regional diversity and equal opportunity.
The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports this project, which aims to help young people in rural areas successfully integrate into the working world. It is based on two synergistic components:
- Taking action upstream of professional integration, with support for mentees. The holistic support offered by the charity, which lasts for one year and is renewable, will enable 2,900 young people in 2022-2023 to acquire the skills they need to find a career path and job that match their potential;
- Taking action at the time of professional integration for the Chemins d'avenirs alumni community, which includes 1,000 students formerly sponsored through Chemins d'avenirs, with one to five years of study after the A-levels, with their first steps in their professional life (via educational tools, grants, professional networking, potential mentoring, events and community meet-ups).
