Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Centre

Sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger had a strong impact on the history of 20th century music. Nadia (1889-1979) was one of the first female conductors and a great teacher. Lili (1893-1918) was the first woman to win the Grand Prix de Rome for composition. Founded in 2009, the Nadia et Lili Boulanger International Centre (CNLB) protects and continues the legacy of these talented female pioneers.

CNLB's missions are organised around three main areas:

- The International Voice-Piano Competition is organised every other year to bring young artists to the fore. It is exclusively dedicated to the demanding repertoire of melody and Lied, both contemporary and past. CNLB also supports the concerts of its recent winners.
- Scholarships are awarded annually to young musicians from all countries and disciplines. These scholarships facilitate their studies in France, as Nadia Boulanger did at the Fontainebleau Conservatory by bringing in numerous foreign artists.
- Promoting the heritage left by Nadia and Lili Boulanger includes publishing scores, collecting and publishing letters and rediscoverying the sisters' music.

As they share the same focus on youth and excellence, the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Centre has been supported by the Mécénat Musical Société Générale association since January 2021.
