Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris
Since its creation in 1795, the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMD Paris) has been France’s leading public institution dedicated to the transmission of musical and choreographic arts. Directed by Émilie Delorme, it welcomes nearly 1,600 students in 2024 across more than 70 disciplines, ranging from early music to orchestral conducting, as well as sound engineering. Its prestigious training is internationally recognised, as evidenced by its 4th‑place ranking in the 2025 QS World University Rankings for Performing Arts.
The Conservatoire distinguishes itself not only through its pedagogical excellence but also through its openness to the world: 24% of its students are international, representing 47 countries, primarily from Asia. The institution is a member of several international networks, offers numerous European programmes, and actively encourages student mobility.
The Société Générale Corporate Foundation is a historical patron of the Conservatoire, which it has supported since 1988. This partnership aims to assist young musicians in developing their professional projects, notably through the awarding of grants. These grants are prioritised for students with the greatest financial need, in the final cycle of musical disciplines or sound professions. They help fund international internships, masterclasses, preparation for and participation in international competitions, as well as the purchase of instruments and professional equipment.
The Foundation also supports a string quartet programme in partnership with ProQuartet, thereby contributing to the artistic development and professional integration of young talents trained at the Conservatoire.
