Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon

Since its creation in 1980, the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon (CNSMD Lyon) has established itself as a leading public institution for advanced training in the musical and choreographic arts. Each year, the conservatory trains several hundred students across a wide range of disciplines, from classical to contemporary music, as well as classical and contemporary dance.

CNSMD Lyon promotes a pedagogical approach centred on artistic excellence and cultural openness. The institution supports its students throughout their professional development, encouraging creativity, rigour, and commitment. It also implements concrete initiatives to promote inclusivity and gender equality, thereby helping to shape artists who are aware of their social and cultural responsibilities. In addition, CNSMD Lyon plays an active role in cultural life, offering its students regular opportunities to perform and engage with diverse audiences, both in France and internationally.

Since 1988, the Société Générale Corporate Foundation has been supporting CNSMD Lyon in its mission. This partnership notably helps fund students’ personal projects through grants, such as support for participation in international tours or competitions. This support contributes directly to the artistic growth and professional development of the talents trained within the conservatory.
