Académie Younus
Since 2012, the association has been addressing issues related to academic success and professional integration for young people from priority neighborhoods under the City Policy, notably through sports activities. The association fights against school dropout and youth unemployment for those aged 6 to 25, and also works to improve access to sports, cultural and artistic activities, as well as holiday camps for children starting at age 6.
Through sports, the association’s mission is to enable every young person to become a fulfilled, autonomous, and engaged adult in society. In addition to its Education program, Académie Younus develops a program focused on empowering mothers and supporting parenting.
The Foundation supports the Sport & Education program, which offers children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 from priority neighborhoods comprehensive and innovative academic support that combines sports with learning:
- Homework assistance sessions every day from Monday to Saturday, with individualized follow-up;
- Educational activities to develop cognitive skills: digital literacy, chess;
- Sports activities: basketball, tennis, handball, golf, horse riding, archery, sailing, surfing, etc.;
- Cultural activities to enrich knowledge and curiosity;
- Activities that foster civic engagement: solidarity actions, street outreach, meal distribution, neighborhood clean-ups;
- Psychological support for young people who need it.
The association collaborates with all stakeholders involved in education and the child’s ecosystem: parents, schools, institutional and associative partners.
