The project is co-sponsored by two charities: POWA and We Are One. POWA is a charity that mobilises and unites all those (professionals, teachers, families, volunteers) who help young people find their place in society. Its aim is to disseminate as widely as possible new approaches to building life paths, both professional and extra-professional, geared towards greater autonomy for all people. We Are One's mission is to support the younger generations in their plans for the future.
Societe Generale’s The Future Is You Foundation supports the POWAO collective mentoring project. Winner of the “1 Jeune 1 Mentor” (1 Young Person 1 Mentor) plan and launched in November 2021, the POWAO programme is a collective mentoring programme that is 100% free of charge for young people of legal age who may be financially, socially, educationally or psychologically at risk. For young people, the goal is for them to get to know themselves, activate their talents and self-confidence, build their career path through contact with mentors, develop the life skills they need to take action, and join their first professional and mutually supportive community. Each group is made up of four young people and two mentors who work together for six months in group and individual sessions, either face-to-face or remotely. By 2022, 500 young people had been mentored: they will be monitored throughout their careers by the project team. The project, which is currently located in Ile de France, Brittany and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, aims to establish itself in the North of France in 2024 and in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in 2025.
