The aim of the École de la Philanthropie (School of Philanthropy) is to improve community life by using philanthropy as a teaching tool (diversion learning) to promote well-being at school and academic success. It has developed an educational programme comprising a range of free materials designed for and with teachers and after-school activity leaders.
The Societe Generale The Future is You Foundation supports the "PLUS" project, an extension of the programme initially developed by the charity. Usually carried out independently by teachers, it will now be offered with the support of a facilitator, particularly in the most disadvantaged schools. The programme will have two main phases:
- A three-step awareness-raising component led by the charity's volunteer facilitator;
- A three-phase action component in partnership with a charity from the network (42 charities throughout France, ready to take part in the programme if their cause is chosen by a nearby school).
