Unis-Cité is an association that intervenes at the national level (75 cities) and works with two local associations, including the one in Auvergne/Rhône Alpes created 20 years ago (13 offices in the region). Unis-Cité’s goal is to offer each young person the opportunity to work as a team on an eight-month long project with other young people from various backgrounds and to learn concrete respect for differences and the benefits of working together through a citizenship training course and assistance with defining future goals. The association’s project led to the creation of Service Civique in 2010.
The Societe Generale Corporate Foundation is supporting the regional spin-off of “Booster pro”, an experimental project launched in 2020 in Roanne (Loire) by Unis Cité Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to promote the socio-professional integration of young people far removed from employment by enrolling them in a dual programme of civic engagement and professional training over eight months. Following a successful pilot phase, the programme will expand into two new departments in 2022: Rhône and Drôme.
